Does anyone know if it's possible to get a key made for my lockset without the original key or the code that goes with it? Just wondering before i spend on a new set of locks.

Cheers.

Any suggestions for companies that might do it?

Cheers

Be careful when you do because I got a GS500E key cut at Timpsons and basically the keys they use are thin at the top, whereas my originals had a 'notch' that stopped the key pushing in up to the base, so I have to 'back it out' by about 2mm whenever I start the bike.

Doesn't sound too bad you say?

It makes putting the steering lock on a right PITA, I have to hold down the barrel with my finger and then back the key out with my other hand Sad

Yeah, i've had bad experiences with Timpsons before, hopefully the people who make me a key for the lock will be able to do it so the key doesn't sit too low in the actual lock.

A friend of mine said it's possible but i still haven't found a compnay who can do it.

Have you tried emailing the manufacturer and seeing if they can give you the code from the frame number? (Doubt it)

I'd personally stay away from Timpsons. I got a spare key cut there and it just won't work.

I always get mine done by...

www.express-keys.co.uk

They will cut keys from number, from a spare, from a lock or via a photocopy of the key! Very Happy

if your near peterboro' try looking for "city locks" when i needed a key vut to a barrel, they charged £22.70 and it took a day as they were busy, key fits perfect with the barrel, seat and petrol tank.
