I was reading up on the difference between naked and faired Bandits and I noticed that faired Bandits use radial tyres (like BT020s), and naked Bandits use cross plys (like BT45s). Why would this be the case? Theyre identicle bikes except for the fairing.

Is there any reason not the use the opposite type? I have 2 good BT020s left over from my written off Bandit600S, and was hoping to use them when my BT45s wear out on my naked Bandit. Confused

that fine to use the radials on it, the cross plys are cheaper and last a bit better, but they don't stick very well.

just remember no radial on the front unless you have a radial on the back,
you can have cross ply front though.

cross plys are cheaper, thats where they save some money

Get the Radials IMO, more grip for a given amount of wear. Thumbs Up

You can't mix them as has been said though.

Hi

As above, a cost thing. Although all things being equal a radial should last longer than a cross ply for the same level of grip.

All the best
