CBR Questions

I've still not gotten used to it yet probably cus I ride the NTV more in all honesty, I've general questions though after taking her for a spin on the A675.

where is the RPM gear change up sweet spot?

Also what speed vs gears

I'm mildy confused since my NTV actually has 4 gears (1st is completely shot so I start in 2nd) while the CBR has 6 working gears , thing is I'm already up to about 65 in 1st revving it to about
8000RPM, its somewhat faster than the NTV.and seems to accelerate forever.

Other than that it seems an ok bike , doesn't have the danger of the NTV though, the NTV vibes heavily see sawa round corners and stops slowly and accelerates slowly meaning you have
to be utterly on the ball to ride it fast. While the CBR requires velocities at least 30mph more than I'd do on the NTV just to get the same excitement. Funny though how on the NTV a 65 MPH
corner and I'm fairly cranked over , while the CBR @ 85 is barely cranked over for the corner.

Any thoughts?

Ride the bike and find where you like to change.

If your town riding just shift every 10mph to save petrol if you want.

At the end of the day just ride it like you would any bike and you will feel when to change it for the given speed / rpm.

You'll instinctively find the sweet spot over time. If you lurch forward when you shift up, then it's too late!

I've got an FY and am pretty much in the same boat as you. When I'm riding round town I'll shift into second at 15mph, into third at about 25 and then short shift into fourth to keep the revs down (30mph limit).

Pulling away from junctions etc its first till about 30mph. Then just hold onto second untill I reach the speed limit. Once I'm at the limit I'll just click up into whichever gear is relevant. When cruising in 40, 50 and 60 areas I tend to leave it in 5th as it feels a lot smoother than cruising in top.
