The old XJ6 certainly was... and I guess the new one is a lighter, less powerful version so should be a good bike too. If it is anything like the old one, watch those wheel bearings!

Very Good.

Mine is P reg XJ 600 S Diversion 25,000 runs like a dream.
Last tankfull worked out at 66mpg and that included some 2 up (no trouble) even though it was the mrs on the back.... And some go for it riding.
Its at home out on the open road as it is through the city stuff.

Had a go on a 98 version only yesterday while my bike was in for a service and really liked it. Nice and comfy, rode well, was easy to throw about town and ok on the motorway. Weather protection wasn't great when I got caught in a down pour but pretty sound bike for the whole 36 miles I done on it. Thumbs Up

Great bikes, slightly low on power but not a bad haul.I found my mates one to have the front suspension setting too light but he was tiny.

Extremely reliable engine and easy to service.
Thumbs Up

Very good first big bike. Cheap, reliable, good for comfortable 85mph. 120 miles to the tank urban. One major thing, check for corrosion around the collector box, common problem and expensive to replace ( happened to my '94 divvy ). Think about getting one that's already had a replacement. Great bike, get one, but for the right price. Loads about, take your pick.

It will only be a matter of time before someone mentions the GPZ 500, I've never ridden one, so I can't compare, but from what I've heard on here, these would be well worth a look too.

Go with the 85 mph, but manage 170 to 200 before reserve all the time. That is 95% commuting.

Had one for a year, loved it then out grew it. Easy to work on (especially if the exhaust has been changed), cheap to run, great 1 and 2 up for commuting and a bit of touring etc.

Take one for a spin if you can.
