Opinions gents and ladies, seems a nice speced bike with relatively cheap purchase price and insurance.

Nice bike, I like them.

Theyre not quite a sports bike tho but then apparently theyre too uncomfortable to be a sports tourer. Confused

Insurance aint too bad.i just got a quote and for TPFT for me @ 20 with 2NCD its about £500 compared to £580 for a GSXR600 and £700 for a VFR4!!! Thats with all the bikes worth 3k.

Probably make a good first big bike.

mostly seem to compain about the riding position and the flat spot, but they point out the flat spot isnt present on pre 95 bikes.... simple buy a pre 95 bike for less money with no problems

well...it depends on what you want your bike for...having witnessed a few drag races on the weekend (Cool), it's fairly safe to say that the RFs aren't exactly the fastest bikes in their class.

If you want a sports tourer-ey bike, then why not stick with the ZZR range?...there was a bloke with a ZZR6 who managed to get close to G's standing quarter time, but actually reached a faster speed (122mph)!

I'm not saying that the RFs are bad bikes though...Rolling Eyes

My FZR is playing up bigtime and I'm gonna be getting a new bike. I liked the RF600 but now I've looked around I'm prolly gonna be getting a ZXR400 or a ZZR600, the RF is also slightly more expensive to insure than the ZZR.

I should hope not tin!!!
My RF400R is really comfortable, nice wide tank.
The RF600 has a much better engine overall and will keep up with some of the sports 600's and should beat most of the sports-tourer 600's.
The 400 engine just can't cope with such a heavy bike:)

Demonic - the 600 aint quick, its only about 80bhp. Compare that to around 100 for the r6/gsxr6 etc.

Yeah, Im not too keen on that either.
Still, just have to see what itslike in the flesh. I hated the SP1 front end from pictures but fell in love with it in real life so you never know.

I really like the rear end on the RF's. Apart from the big hole in mine caused by Zak's inferior bike and his annoying habit of following FAR too close:)
