I am nearly 16 and am probably going to buy a derbi senda or something similar.

I know it should be restricted but I would like to go faster then 30mph. Does anyone know of someone who got Caught with it deristricted or know what happens if you get caught with it deristricted.

Many thanks. Coops

I got the SX50, same as the senda (basically).

First of all no point worrying yet cos if your buying new you'll have to run the engine in first anyway (If you want to keep the bike in shape).

Running-in is 1000km so about 600-700 miles.

Don't know anyone who has been caught, none of my mates have. I'm not sure what you'll get probs 6 points and a fine because A) Your riding without insurance B) Your simply breaking the law. Although you usually get let-off with a warning for the first offence. Depends on what you were doing.

Not yet, getting it done in 3-4 weeks when i've got that little bit more expericnce and my first service is in 2 weeks. TBH if your in a very towny area with not many straights then no point.

I'm in an area with big straights so need to get it done quite soon, i wouldnt get it derestricted at first aswell because you need to get used to the sensation of speed (Feels fast at first if you havn't been on one before). I know that if mine had gone around 50+ i would have crashed by now as you realise how dumb car drivers really are.

It's SX!! it's the new 2007 model, It's the super-moto one, not a typo Very Happy Rare bike, which will be a pain for spares Sad

As for the Bultaco lobito never heard of it, just looked and it is nice looking but i doubt it's good mechanical wise, probably hard for spares. Try and stick with the better makes if you can.

Are you staying on with bikes next year or getting a car?

Because on bike pics they don't have a category for SX50. If you go on the official aprilia website you will see that it is now SX50 not RX50 Wink

That SX is lovelly Thumbs Up

Anyway, mine senda is derestricted, as long as you keep to the speed limits around the police/built up areas you'll be fine. IMO being restricted is more dangerous, when i got down dual carrageways at 50+ people zoom past so i'd hate to think what it'd be like going 30.
