Sorry to be a pain in the arse, and i know this topics been posted before, but my reeds are shit, and chipped. I want the carbon jobbies but do they actually make any differance??
Where can i buy them because i checked band c expess but they didnt have them.

i already had them when i got my bike they will make a small difference nothing to get exited about. they only cost bout a tenner worth putting htem in if ur changing them

Yeah I got a set from M&P but they are race reeds and need to be swapped every 1000KM or so!!

do they i didnt know that? i ant replaced mine. how do u know when they need replacing? what happens if u dont change them does it effect the speed?

i wana be sure the reed valves are by the intake manifold to the engine crak case arn't they???

also bog standard ones on the NSR........ how long would you say they will last??

Hi

Sounds like you have found the reeds. They should last for ages. Never yet had to replace any because they are worn out. Normally they just start to fail to seal and performance drops. They can break up, but this is not likely to cause other problems with fibre reeds. Some older 2 strokes used steel reeds and when these failed they could do a fair bit of damage.

Yes Dan.. you got to swap these around quite frequently apparently. The M&P ones suggest swapping these every 1000KM or so. Note: Swapping the bottom reed with the top one and vice versa.

is it easy enough to do? so i wouldnt need to but new ones just swap them round? would this effect my poorformance cos top speed isnt as fast as it used to be

Hi people, thanks for the advice. It didnt have carbon reeds in the M&P catalogue, but they do sell them, will get them in 2 weeks Sad . Also got a gold chain,
sprokets,
gold tax holder,
splitfire spark plug,
new brake pads,
clutch plates and springs (any one know how to undo the main clutch bolt???),
halogen bulbs,
single seat (came in pink when they said it was gonna be red!!!),
Think thats it!!!

they are about 10 quid me thinks!

Oh and M&P are crap when it comes to sending you the correct stuff. I've got a Piston and a fork seals sent to sri lanka by air freight and they do not fit. well annoyed. Will ask for a refund.. its a pain in the ass though!!

I hope the other stuff (i haven't still tried some out) are okay.
