Hi,

Could anyone reccomend a good buget lid (Under £200)?
Sadly my HJC HQ-1 is damaged and I dont want to take the risk of rideing with it much longer.

Mainly looking for something light & quiet.

Thanks for the help all.

I'm pretty sure you can pick up a shoei XR1000 for that price if you know where to look? Failing that, a shoei Raid II is more or less the same helmet with less features but a good long distance helmet.

The one that fits the best. </stock answer>

Really, though, that's what's important - that's what's going to save your life if bad things do happen.

I find the shoeis quite loud; but the Raid I is a very good fit for me, so am happy with it.

I got a plain black Shoei XR1000 for £199 inc postage from these guys last year... (Although the page isn't loading for some reason at the mo) https://www.bfmmotorcycles.co.uk/catalogue/clothing/helmets/shoei.jsp

You should be able to get a plain colour XR1000 for around that from other online retailers though.

Utterly outstanding lid for the money. Smile

When I bought my helmet, I tried on £500 shoei and Arai helmets. And I couldn't find one that fit me comfortably.

In the end I spent £150 on an AGV Airtech Lid in this seasons colours.
I put it on, and it felt like It was all the way on, And was way too small. Then it sort of pushed on a little more, and just fitted perfectly, Everywhere. The most comfortable bike helmet ive ever come across tbh. VERY impressed. Thumbs Up

So just go to a local bike shop. Find out what size you are, Then just try on different makes until you find one that fits nice. You will know when you have the right one on your head. Thumbs Up

My shark S800 only cost 140, i personally think its a great lid. Although it just depends what suits your head. Try a few on and see what fits you properly. Thumbs Up
