Tyres (again)

Reading up the Bridgestone website, I find loads about car tyres and lost patience,

Whats a good touring tyre choice for my CBR600 ? , I recently got a fantastic deal on some BT014s but think they won't last more than 2000 miles to get to Calais is already 250 miles and I'm not wanting to risk bald tyres.

Any thoughts?

I think Bridgestones are now on to BT021.
I've got a set of Pirelli Stradas and my ZX6 and can't fault them.

Consider an 014 front and 021 rear.

However, I'd have thought you should be getting more like 4000 miles doing distance on an 014?

I've just had a set of Pilot Powers fitted to my Cat and they seem to be an awesome tyre. Dunno how long they'll last though. Hopefully they will give good mileage.

ah ok , I had conti road attacks when I first bought the bike , they ate a shard of metal on the road (in the middle) and ripped them to bits, couldn't be bunged he had a fantastic deal on BT014s so I took the 14s.

I'm also tempted by the Pilot Road 2s for mine. I've only ever used Bridgestones on mine, used to have BT010 front, BT020 rear, and used to change the pair between 5 and 6k miles. I'm now doing a lot more motorway riding than I used to, my current pair of BT020's all round (as they wouldn't fit a BT014 front!!) has the front still with a fair bit of wear left and the rear almost shot after 5k miles.

Can you miss match tyres? because i am getting a bt 014 on the front and a 21 on the rear is that going to be ok?

Also how sticky is the 21 because i like to do knee down etc and i am going touring?

I had 6000 miles out of a rear Avon Azaro ST, grip on the bends was good too.
I paid £195 for the pair, fitted and balanced.

I''ll be due another rear soon, currently i've got a BT-010 front & rear. I'm happy with it, but to be honest that might just be because i've never tried anything else since buying the bike in november.

how do these compare against other tyres? i commute about 40 miles ad, but love to have loads of grip for the country roads so not too fussed about getting heeps of miles out of them..
