what a stink ive just read in MCN that if your bike is stolen then to get it recovered by the police you will be given a £105 fee to have it taken back to the forensics lab to look for clues to catch the asshole who stole your pride n joy!
we pay our council tax already which pays for the police to do what they have to do!!
apparently they say you can claim on your insurance, but of course you wouldnt want to as this would bump up your premium for next year which as the victim of a crime is truley unfair!

rant over now but just couldnt believe what i was reading.

oh yea befor i forget there is a 15/20 perday storage fee too. joke aint it!!! Thumbs Down Thumbs Down Thumbs Down

Yep. Chances are even if they did manage to catch the theif they' donly get a £20 fine and 3 hrs community service. May as well just save your money IMO. Or if you catch them in the act charge the police £105 to hand him/her(I'm all for equality) over. Wink

If you have access to transportation, always request that the police inform you of the bike's location and that you will collect it yourself.

This won't work if they want forensics, as they can then be 'contaminated' as such.

Hang on a minute...

I Thought the police were already payed to catch criminals??

They should do the forensic tests without question, to prevent this thievery in future!

I'm beginning to dislike capitalists...

almost brought a tear to my eye when you had yours taken killa, i really felt for you "stood there with the lid and card" i know exactly what you mean when you say that your brain was trying to find an explanation for the empty space, it took me a good few seconds to register when mine got taken too.
