Well, I guess it had to happen sometime. I just crashed my YBR125, less than a month old from brand new too Sad

Right hand corner, not sure how fast I was going, maybe 30 - 40mph, leant over and bike slid away from me. Not much damage, just a few scratches and scuffs on the exhaust, right peg, headlamp, speedo housing, throttle, and front and rear break lever.

I'm fine, just got a bit of a sore leg, and battle scars on my gloves and jacket. Live and learn I guess.

Now it's a true 125.

It happens mate, this sadly is one of the major argument of not buying brand new bikes, especially 50s and 125s.

Cheers for the replies chaps :] Anyone got any idea why my brake fluids dropped to about half it's level? Has it squirted out somewhere when my brake lever got bent?

Strangly my YBR fluid level dropped to less than half and has stayed there for months.

shame mate, i bet those shitty tyres that every ybr includes was partly to blame.

Id take it to a Yamaha dealer and ask them to check over it and repair anything like brake levers and put better tyres on it.

Sad luck mate and good luck in the future with the YBR it is a cracking bike Very Happy

Check for leaks around the banjo bolt on the master cylinder.

Once my bandit fell off the stand and managed to somehow loosen the banjo bolt just enough for fluid to leak.

Aye its a shit feeling aint it?

I lowsided my bike (a 125 aswell!) on a roundabout 2 weeks after i got it..from new. Thing is, the tyres weren't that bad and it was at that time when the air temperature was 35deg+!!! (last july/august)

Its weird, it doesn't feel like its your bike anymore. Feels different but afterwhile you get used to it. I still have battle scars all over my bike, i even have 2 different mirros (i wasn't paying £40 for a standard suzuki mirror!)

I just left mine to rest all it wants over winter and i am getting ready to replace all the parts within the next month (mirrors, clutch lever, exhaust, footrests etc)

Expensive but it might make me feel better..physcologically anyway Smile

Oh yeah, i have seen them OEM tyres on the YBR125...i wouldn't trust them on my push bike. Id get some better tyres asap.

I just had a avon roadrider fitted to the rear of mine and i can vouch for them.....its a FAR better tyre than the pirelli mt75 i had fitted before. But yeah, get rid asap!

Eh?

This was 2 months into having my XR, on the newly surfaced road.

Didnt realise a full lean and a greasy surface would cause me to fall. Rolling Eyes

When they re-surface roads, it leaves a 'residue' (and no druggies..not resin Very Happy ) on the top of the tarmac. Really horrible to ride on in the wet.

Full lean in the wet is not a good idea.....as your exerting an outward force (so basically accross the top of the tarmac)...and if you have tyres made by monkeys or just crappy suspension then it will most likely give way from underneath you Razz
