Hello all,

Having spent the best part of five hours last night reading old threads on here I must say it seems like a top forum.

Well as the subject says Im a total newbie, please be gentle with me and try not to take the micky too much.

I first did my cbt at the age of 19, pratted about on a 100cc honda crashed it and lost my bottle, now Im 30 and my other half as just stared uni as a Student Nurse as a result we knew we didnt need 2 cars anymore so we decided to get her a scooter...

Thats where the plan went out of the window, she didnt like the scooter I loved it and since then Ive been racing around on a derestricted Gilera Runner (I stunned me what speed you can get out of 50cc's!)

Anyway I now want more, I'm looking at getting my full license but Im not sure the best way to go about it, so Im here seeking advice from those in the know.

How did you learn? 5 day crash course, cbt then 6 months on a 125? just took the test? What worked for you and what would you advise a newbie like me to do?

i guess you have done your cbt more recently as a cbt is only valid for two year (or you passed your car test before a certain date so you can ride a 50cc with no L plates hmmm not sure if you still need to do your cbt though argg ive confused myself now)

anyways i would recommend you get yourself a 125 asap and get some practice in do some lessons and then go for your test and then you a free to pick what ever bike you wish. gl and ride safe Thumbs Up

there are some stickys in the new bikers section which could be some use if you have not read them already

CBT is well out of date but I passed my test long enough ago to ride a scooter, although there has been some confusion over this.

Very Happy
