... people who judge people on 125's?
today as i was riding through town, i stopped at the lights which are outside a pub, and some hilarious people started laughing at my bike and saying 'ohhh, what the hell is that?' and all that crap.
so because he was on my side of the road about 5 meters away, i asked him what he rode.
'a fuckin GN250' he said
so theres me, with a half decent CB400 at home, and im getting trouble from someone who rides one of them???
are these people bikers? or just general cunts? ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. They were outside a pub - need you say more?
Some people are general dicks who cant comprehend that it is just possible that the person riding the clapped out cub 90 etc could have a nice shiny fireblade in the garage.
I'll tell you another thing that pissed me off with peoples attitude towards small bikes. When I had the ped and the 125 nobody ever moved to the side of the road to let me past and they were constantly blocking me in whilst filtering. Another old favorite was speeding up while I'm attempting an overtake. But since I've been riding the 600 I've had no trouble at all. Everybody moves over to let me past etc. People just have no respect for peds and smaller bikes.

it actually pissed me off today when that happened
i suppose now i know what it feels like for all the people in ped crews and on RS's that i regularly laugh at.
then again... most of them are chavvages.
i think people are starting to tar all 125ers with the chav brush, not good!
oh well, theory on the 13th, then A2 soon as i can after that. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. Bugger... I thought you only needed a rear one...
I hate the way people think the engine size determines the speed and way you drive... I have a mate that firmly belived that as he was driving a 1.6, any lower engined car cannot travel as fast as him... and he took corners like an old granny! (he is a biker btw)
People also seem to like to go on the value of a car or bike... meaning the higher the cost the better it is... I always liked pointing out that although I paid very little for my Scirocco... I still have better acceleration than most of the chavs that mock it... and my numberplate alone is worth more than their car! |

yea, happened to me when i had my XR125. Never got nodded by bikers (well, a few), and every car driver was up my arse.
As soon as i past my test, cage drivers didnt sniff my arse, and i got a hell of alot more nods from bikers.
On an extra note, i fancy some camo biking jeans.. god i would look cool.

Around here I havent had any stick off of random people. Most bikers nod and I nod back. Car drivers still seem to stay up my ass though. Cut me up, pull out on me and just push in when changing lanes.
In fact, this reminds me of a very cool time when another biker on an R6 saw a car driver cut me up. Well, the car just moved across lanes and pushed me out of mine. The biker spent the rest of the road hovering by the side of the car staring directly at the driver as if to say 'Fuck you' Or something. I saw the guy driving the car look at the biker then look down in disgrace .
For some reason, I felt safer when that biker did that. Kinda silly, but it was cool. ____________________ Current: MT-10, Bandit, Grom, GPZ500

lol, there are fuck wits every where, half the people who ride big flash bikes do because its a status symbol, (not that in any way a fucken gn is a status symbol) when we went to the nw200 i took my zxr (butchered fighter) and my little brother took my crappy gs500 (also butchered) he by far had the crappiest bike there and i wasn't very far behind. but when it came to riding the coastal road up to the race, through the twisties, no body could leave the gs behind,
its not what you ride, its that, you do ride and if people give you shit, then fuck them, they arn't people i would associate with.
have fun on your 125 thats what its all about, ____________________ the humans are dead

I'm a firm believer in "doing your time" on a 125, basically because I did. In many respects you just have to swallow your pride and suck it up. I rode mine for 4 months before passing my test, I got nodded to by bikers and was treated with curtesy by most car drivers. I do think having an up-rated headlight bulb, permanently on and being assertive (to a point) when filtering helped.
The only really dodgy incident I had was with two guys in a VW Golf, in Stroud in December. I'd just exited an island and as there was stationary traffic I wasn't quite in the right position in the road. The exit of the island was quite large and this guy pulled up on my left wound his window down and started giving me abuse. I honestly couldn't hear all he said as I had ear-plugs in, but I got the general gist of it, my bike was shit, I should get a proper one etc... Well as the traffic began to move off he tried to force his way in front of me by continuing up my inside. I can be quite belligerent at times and as I was prepared for him to hit me rather than yield he gave up in the end and I got my space back. He went absolutely mental, I couldn't hear his words but he was shouting and screaming at me, standing on his horn, revving his engine and sitting an inch off my arse. All this on a Friday evening before Christmas through the bus station in Stroud. Loads of people, therefore loads of witnesses, I can only conclude he was drunk/high, driving his mom's car and showing off to his mate. Thankfully at the next island I turned right for Gloucester and he turned left for Kemble, which kind of said it all... ____________________ My claim to fame: Austin Vince nicked my pen... |

I'm a firm believer in destroying weekend warriors off the line A 600 is no good if they can't launch it properly.
If i ever got any disrespect, i'd make people regret it. People nudging my back tyre in traffic would get a black streak on their car from a burnout. If anybody sat on my arse, i'd slow down, then pin the throttle. If anybody pulled a stupid overtake, i'd give their car a booting as i filtered past at the next junction.
Don't take shit because your bike has a small engine. If it's a smoker it has the capability of putting weekend warriors to shame round corners and off the line, and it'll piss all over pretty much any car you're likely to come across off the line.
And don;t bother with l-plates, what difference do they make? ALl they mean is you get more abuse!
