Right then, any white van men around?

Got to get my non-runner of a ZX6R to the garage.

Looks like ive got access to tranny van for a day but im thinking how the feck am i going to get the heavy bike into the back of the van?!

And any tips for securing the bad boy? Got some rachet straps was thinking a few round the bars, frame and rear of the bike and strap it to the frame of the van, sounds safe enough to me (obviously watching the paintwork), it's just getting the bugger in there in the first place that seems like it's going to be hard work, any tips?

Apologies for the extreme newbishness.

Get a scaffold board or similar and just roll it up, its not that hard, I got my gsxf750 into the back of a merc sprinter like that and they are higher than a transit!

I managed to get my CBR 600 into the back of my dads transit the other day, we just rolled it up a wooden ramp into the back which i thought would be well hard, but we done it in one big push an it was actually quite easy. we then had to drive 60 miles with the bugger in the back Surprised so we proper tied it up with rope, making sure we had padding beind each bit of rope that held the bike upright, it was easy work getting it back it wouldnt even move once it was in the van hardly. The hardest bit was rolling it backwards down the ramp to get it out the van,it felt very unsafe as i had to back it down the ramp with me sitting on it and hard on the brakes, and about half way down the ramp it felt like it was gonna fall either way because there was no room to put my feet down the only sideways support i had was two mates who wernt pullin there weight as they assumed i had it under control, had my heart pumping! luckily i managed it. Good luckto you hope this helps.

Careful if you put straps around your bars - more specifically the grips. Did that once and did the ratched up too tight... tore the grip.

Ramp it up, shouldn't be a problem, it's pretty eas and a transit isn't all that high. Me and my dad and the man i bought the bandit 400 off got it into the back of his HiLux without ramps!

Don't do what I did and put one of the straps round a footpeg, cause obviously the peg can move and that can mean the strap can become slack and then the bike falls over Rolling Eyes
Luckily cause of the way we put it in the van it could only bump into the side and there was no damage.. but still..

Also when taking it out the van I wouldn't recommend sitting on it, I stood to the left keeping the front brake covered backing it out slowly, whilst my dad held onto the grab rail and helped me steady it as I moved it out. I'm sure my bike weighs less than yours but it wasn't to hard that way, the most difficult part was finding a kerb high enough so we could get the bike out without bashing the bottom of the fairing.
