I went to my local Chinese take-away earlier and after ordering my food the manger of the take-away left to drop off a order in do so she reversed her car into my VFR750F knocking it on to its side Rolling Eyes

Dropping in a quote tomorrow for replacment parts, not taking the piss with minor damaged bits though but the parts required in total come to £360 from Dave silvers.

You say you're not taking the piss with minor damage bits. Why not? Maybe only invoice her for 2nd hand bits that are very minorly damaged, or maybe resprays for those bits. But if she was blind enough to reverse round the corner of a building ON the pavement without seeing your bike behind her, what chance does a person on the pavement have? The more she pays the less chance of her doing it again.

The minor bits are bar end/lower faring which already had some scratching from a previous drop, she was fine about paying for the damage so at the moment l,m letting that go but if she refuses to stump up the cash l,m just going to claim off her insurance which would mean righting off the VFR750.

Upsetting those who you entrust with the preparation of your food more is never, ever wise.

Just to play devil's advocate, what is the law regarding motorbikes parked on public footpaths?

Nice one. Thumbs Up Its a pain having to go through insurance anyway.

Happened to me twice this in my works car park, both times had to go through insurance because too pricey to replace fairings etc! My Suzuki RG125 was a write off because of it, and my Gix had about £1500 worth of damage! Shocked

Glad you got it sorted anyway. Wink

That they're worthy of a parking ticket technically. However I think the penalty for reversing a car along a pavement and round a corner is slightly higher..

I still think she's a moron and possibly dangerous, thought maybe she might look in her rear view mirror from now on. If i'd bled her dry for money I certainly wouldn't have gone back for any takeaways, prefer my king prawn fried rice without the phlegm.
