Got pulled, over 3 months ago now for speeding and crossing a double white line, i was speeding but i dont think i crossed the line. Anyway to cut a long story short the Pig did not have any of his instroments on so its his word against mine, he has also said in his statment i was not showing L plates (i was on a 33bhp licence so did not even need them!). At the time i should have been restricted but my 2 years is up now but that has not been questioned and even if it is i could just say it was restricted at the time. Anyhoo should i take the 3 points for crossing the double line (they are not doing me for speeding as they have no proof) or should i go to cort as they have no proof apart from the Pigs word, or is that enough?

go to court an argue it they cant say you are gettin 3 points for speeding an crossing a line, but then go back on the speeding cus they cant prove it, they cant prove you crossed the line either. if you argue it chances are they will drop it any way. can you even get 3 points for crossing a line anyway? then ask them if the copper was bullied at school! For some decent advice it might be worth getting over to www.pepipoo.com and asking there.

If you do go to court over this, you might consider not calling the police 'pigs', as the Bench are unlikely to find your ignorant angst amusing.

Were you overtaking?

I may be wrong but no overtaking when there is a solid white line irregardless of crossing them.

Take it on the chin and grow up.

Yer im not that ignorant, cunts would be much moor appropriate

Ignorant enough to ignore the spell-checker, despite admitting that you can't spell.

In my slightly-less-than-humble opinion, you deserve to get bummed to death by the Bench just for your appalling attitude.

Ask someone qualified to give legal advice?

Fucking hell, you wouldn't meet up with someone off of here to perform a root canal so why would you bother asking for legal advice from people who aren't qualified either?

If it helps, I think overtaking without crossing white lines is allowed. But again. ASK A SOLICITOR WHO SPECIALISES IN TRAFFIC MATTERS Rolling Eyes

As you know there are Police on this forum that could give you valuable information, even though it was your fault you were pulled. Its a different attitude when the police do something that helps you but slating them and calling them names for pulling you over as you were riding dangerously isn't going to help you. Rolling Eyes

How many times do I have to tell you MJ, the Wisdom tooth is not located in the bottom!

Don't let MJ touch your genitals, he's not a real doctor.

There are some people that have posted on here that are well qualified in such things I believe.

As I've found in the past, it can be quite difficult to find a traffic legal-bod that really knows what they're talking about.

If you have a copied of his signed statement which brings up the point about L plates, I suspect that could be a good way to show the policeperson doesn't know what they're talking about.

Not if it is simply a statement of fact, for descriptive purposes.

You are wrong I'm afraid. You can overtake as long as you don't cross the line. I know this from asking a police biker at when I was doing bikesafe. Was something I'd always wanted to know before.

Is that what happend to your mother after being pulled for driving like a slut!

Wow, witty retort! You truly are a tedious 'tard.

Dose not matter now hopefully the Policeman wrote in his statment that i crossed the double line by a junction, but their is no double line by the junction its about 50 yards up the road. I also recived the letter over 3 months after the incident.

Being within 50 yards of something can be classed as being 'by' it.

You seem to reply very quickly, obviously spend most of your time behind your PC.

EErr no, i dont think so the double white lines actually start just before the corner up the road, and if he says i crossed them at the junction that means the junction not 50 yards up from the junction.

They might bump overtaking at a junction to dangerous driving, we can only hope. Don't start a thread asking for advice and then start slating anything and everything, you're not going to get the advice. Rolling Eyes

Can I just point out that asking for advice and then turning your thread into a flame-war is not really the best way to get the requested advice.

From the highway code:

Quote:
108: Double white lines where the line nearest you is solid. This means you MUST NOT cross or straddle it unless it is safe and you need to enter adjoining premises or a side road. You may cross the line if necessary to pass a stationary vehicle, or overtake a pedal cycle, horse or road maintenance vehicle, if they are travelling at 10mph or less.
Laws RTA sect 36 & TSRGD regs 10 & 26
