I've come across two so far in my travels locally. The first one has been marked out on a rather high speed hump that drops down to the gutter next to the kerb. This gap is just right for fitting your wheel into but not good for using the stand. To try and heave a bike up the hill of the hump onto the centre stand is extremely heavy so the alternative is to park so far away from the kerb that the bike sits out too far into the road. Using the side stand here on many bikes is nigh impossible as often the engine is either touching the hump or too close to use the stand anyway.
The second bay has been placed on the outside of a bend opposite a buildout which narrows the road down to single lane traffic. Not very safe at all.
Has any body else found any more bays like these?

The one outside of Debanams in the Bullring Birmingham is about 8 inches shorter than even a Lifan so all the bikes poke out into the roadway.

I do really wonder who they consult about these things. I mean, any biker would be able to see the problems with their planned sites and measurements. I actually wrote to the council about the speed hump one and they wrote back saying that road wasn't in their borough! They wouldn't believe me that it was despite the fact that I pointed out that it was a mile away from any other boroughs boundary.
