all he said to me was.... do you know where you messed up?? i said erm i took a left instead of going straight on, i knew this cos he made me pull over do a u turn then go down the correct way, i can understand being failed if i was unsafe during my test but i didnt make a single other mistake... personally i think its rather pathetic

Because you didn't follow his instructions - Harsh but at the end of the day, you didn't carry out the task he asked you to do.

If he didn't ask you to, then you weren't driving with due care and attention to see the road markings.

You then have to ask, seeing as this is a turn at a junction, did he signal, lifesaver, mirror? We weren't there so we can't comment really!

If you didn't signal it's a fail.

well i will admit, that i didnt signal right away as if it was a left turn because i thought i was going straight on however as soon as i realised it was a left turn, which was basically right in front of it (enough time) for 3 blinks on the indicator instead of 6, i then did a lifesaver, observed any possible hazards and pulled over, i can understand being failed for continuning to do 30 down the street without signalling checking mirrors etc.... but i *was* safe with what i did....

the only reason i can think of being failed is cos i didnt realise it was a left right away...but i had my indicators on as soon as possible, gggrrrrrr f*eck it there is always next time

ps he was following me in a car... by the looks of him he probably only ever rode a bike the once, and learnt most of his stuff out of the DSA's little book (toss*er)

love to see him take the test!!

godamnit..... as you signalled you *should* have only got a minor for signalling late AFAIK they are not allowed to take into account you not following their directions as the radios can mess up etc.
Which section did they put the cross against?

Is that true G? They have to take into account the radios?

I was allways told that if you're going in the wrong direction the examiner has to carry on.... in my first test I indicated right (3rd exit) then realised I was supposed to be going straight on, I changed my indication... major #1. If I'd gone right I would have been okay I'm told.

They CAN't fail you for getting lost so long as you do it safely i.e. all ur checks, signals etc.

I was told the most they could give you was a minor and they would have to alter their route to take into account the changes, you proboly caught him on a bad day

OK, he CANNOT fail you for going the wrong way. I thought I'd taken the wrong turning off a roundabout, I was asked to take the 2nd exit and there was a turning after the roundabout - which I took. I went the wrong way. At the end of the test I asked if I had gone the way he intended he saiid YES, BUT

Even if it hadn't been the right way he couldn't have failed me because I took the direction safely and indicated etc etc, so it doens't matter!! PLUS they have to take into consideration the fact that the radios can play up....... You want to complain.

I believe there is an appeal proceedure. I don't know if it's any good or if anyone has ever had a result overturned, but it might be worth looking into.
If it's any consolation, I think you were robbed! Evil or Very Mad

You can only appeal against the way the examiner conduc5ted the test. not his decision. Could get you a fre re-test though. may take a while

i was told that you can fail. Because your going off the set route - like if you were doing a different paper to everyone else in an exam.

As I have said, it's just sooo much down to luck Sad

We all make mistakes now again, and just because we have a perfect ride for a test, doesn't mean that we're perfect riders...so this whole testing procedure is bollocks, really!
