A mate said on a moped you should only have thr throttle open about half way untill you get to about 20mph, but i have just been opening it a little until it starts goin, then pinnin it back. whats the correct way to do it? will doing it wrong affect the bike at all?

Its a moped throttle. You twist it and you go forward. opening the throottle up fully at a standstill wouldnt do any harm to the bike whatsoever, its restricted.

Get a geared bike Wink much more fun Wink

You're not really going to affect the bike by doing that, but you should be more progressive in its use, with a smooth action.

Think about it, if you get on a bigger bike, what's going to happen if you use the same riding style of pinning it back? Unless you want to join the Darwin Appreciation Society and scratch an expensive lamppost, that is.

ok cheers for the help, only reason i asked is that me mate said pinning the throttle back straight away 'bogs it down', don't really know what that means but if its not doin any damage i'm not too bothered
