I have to log in twice...........simple as that really.

Guv thats usually to do with your cookies, try clearing your cookies and logging in again, also check that when you log in your at https://www.bikechatforums.com rather than https://bikechatforums.com or similar.

When you log into phpbb a couple of cookies are created on your pc, these cookies amongst other things identify the domain that the forum is found at. if you log in from https://bikechatforums.com your cookie domain will not match the domain stored in the forums database.

Clearing your cookies and logging in from the correct domain will solve the problem...
