IMHO car-engined bikes are wrong.

Cute, but I'd want those belts covered before I place my tackle anywhere near it.

I don't mind Harleys. But there's a V8 one in the US, which is also wronger than wrong. I mean, how does it go round corners?

no it's not.. it's in a Kraftek frame.. they normally make custom frames for Harley engined bikes, sure, but it's no more a harley than a Spondon framed streetfighter is a Suzuki.

The only harley bits, as far as I can tell, is the transmission

Not a fan of Harley's and the like, the exhausts look a bit crap compared the rest of the bike, and please forgive my lack of knowledge but what are the 4 pipes in this picture?

They are the bellmouths of a bank of downdraught webber carburettors. That's where lots and lots of air gets sucked in very quickly.

Don't know why they bothered with a gearbox at all to be honest. All you'd really need is the clutch and an appropriately geared shaft.

That is simply beautiful, an amazing piece of machinery. Should be nearly 200hp and a bucketful of torque from that alfa motor too, so no doubt quick! I bet it sounds unbelievable on those pipes, if the sound of the normal application is anything to go by.

I like the look of that bike Thumbs Up

The engine seems to suit the bike and the stacks coming through the tank is a touch of genius and keeps the bike very sleek and streamlined.

Not too keen on the exhaust as they are a little skinny, but the wraps give it a hard mean look.

Some thought has gone into that bike, I really like the tank.

Stinkwheel: Can you explain what you mean about the geared shaft and clutch? I'm probably too thick to understand the point you were making Wink

I'm guessing he means that because of the amount of power/torque available from the engine, you'd only need one gear (i.e. a geared shaft) and a clutch to control pulling away.

The daddy's still the Boss Hoss 606 though. 10 litre V8 in a bike frame with 640 hp and 600lb/ft torque. 8 second standing quarter with the 2 speed 'glide box in it.

Quite a clever piece of engineering, you can hardly tell it's car engine.

But why, oh why, would you use an Alfa motor???

Like the guy quotes...

Hi

2.5V6 so just around 160hp claimed. Really hope they swapped out the hydraulic cambelt detensioner (used oil pressure to reduce cam belt tension at higher revs, although often could leak and trash the belt but not sure I would want an uncovered belt getting looser).

Not sure why they have gone for 2 twin choke Webers. Seems to be a way to make life difficult. Most of those engines came with Bosch fuel injection (the Italian market 2L V6 came with a totally different fuel injection system), but if they wanted carbs then an engine from an Alfa 6 would have been a better basis, having come with 6 Solex carbs as standard.

Because a Ferrari engine costs too much.

All the best

Hmm ive seen that bike somewhere before?

babyyam (i think) posted a pic of a subaru engined bike and it looked cooler than a snowmans cold bits Exclamation

I like it though, it makes the marine technologies jet bike look practical..

Camshaft "DE-Tentioner"???

As opposed to the Camshaft "Variator" that they use nowadays? Which alters camshaft geometery as the revs reach 4k.
Variable valve for Alfa's (and some FIAT's).

Latest 2.5V6 quoted as 190BHP.

I meant... Because Alfa's are notouriously unreliable.

Of course it's unreliable. It's Italian.

Italian vehicles are primarily designed to go well with your designer sunglasses and to attract women, not to be reliable.
