My son's recently purchased 125 aprilia pegaso keeps on losing power and cutting out. its a 94 model and the ignition, pick-up etc is all combined into 1 unit. It seems to have a strong spark. Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be? Is there a way of testing the ignition system?

Hi

Ignition is fairly simple on them. Main problem is the magnets on the rotor breaking up.

Personal guess at the problem would be blocked fuel filter (there is one in the carb) or a blocked fuel tank breather.

All the best

Keith
