bollocks, i failed

:(

3 mins from the end, at a crossroads, intending to turn right, coming at me was a large blue van, i stopped in front of him and prepared to turn, when i should have gone behind him (nearside to nearside)

that constitued a dangerous manouvre, major fault, test failed

other than that only 2 minors, one for hesitation at a roundabout,

the second was for giving a misleading signal, i was directed to turn next left, and it was sharper than i anticipated so i ended up going straight on leaving my left indicator on as i did so, second minor fault

if i hadnt have mashed up the junction move, i would have passed

next test booked for september 10th, at the same location :( ages, i wanted to be done by the end of the summer

cost of full licence so far £385 + £30 (3 days insurance) + 76.50 (retest +bike hire)

close to 500 quid, "IF" i pass on the retake

sorry i tried...

Though it sounds like you did pretty good generally... so it's not looking *too* bad. Just remember to keep practising all your checks etc so they're fresh in your head for next time.

Sad

At least you failed "fair and square" (like me)...I look back and say "fair enough, I wouldn't feel right if I passed anyway..."

But having said that, it's still a pain in the @rse! Evil or Very Mad

If it's any consolation: Welcome to the Club! Very Happy ...you would've been an outcast if you had passed anyway Razz

What's the £30 insuarance for? Confused...i thought that the bike hire should include that?

insurance is separate tin, dont ask me why

my manouvre wasnt illegal and it didnt break any laws, the highway code states you can do it either way

but in the situation my way was dangerous and i should have gone beyond the van to turn

i dont blame anyone, he got me fair and square, its just a bit depressing is all

Goose man -that's a bugger - as you say strictly speaking it's allowed but at the end of the day, you just have to accept it and move on - good luck for the 10th Sept buddy.

If you want to try and take your test again sooner - no reason why you shouldn't as you're obviously quite capable of passing - try and get a cancellation. I got one ten days (the minimum period of time between retakes) after I failed.

Better luck next time you!!! Trust me, you'll be fine - and when you go next time, let them know you've failed it once, they'll be less likely to try and catch you out Very Happy CHIN UP Very Happy

Naa, unlucky mate. You never know what they want to you do in those situations. Whatever you do do it's always the wrong one.

As I said to your earlier, it's all down to luck Sad...you were/are definately confident and competent by the sounds of it, but...tsch...

Bad luck m8 Sad I'm sure u will do ok next time.

It is always the case in a test when one encounter a "real" situation one acts on an impulse which may be construded as a 'dangerous manouver' by the tester. Normally that is down to the pressure experienced under test conditions.

Better luck on the 10th. keep it fresh.....

By the way we hoped to see u at Sarrat on Wed, where were u?

Regards from TJ.
