I was at the mechanic yesterday and he has a used, perfect condition RS 250 there for sale. The price? 2000e /1400 squid (!) That's what my DT cost me!

Anyway, I'd love to own this beauty but there seems to be no way in hell I can justify it. I'm 18, 125 license, enjoying my DT but still a biking newb, leaving next year to study in Barcelona... The only time I could use it properly would be if I took it to the track there. And as a student, I'll have no money to pay for trackdays and maintenence.

Still... There's gotta... be... a way..! Laughing

Don't bother, then. They are expensive to run and need to be looked after.

They are also hassle to live with on a daily basis, but great fun for Sunday blasts.

You'll probably find your self having pretty much as much fun on a 4 stroke 400 without the expensive fuel costs.

Its an Aprilia Thumbs Down

nice quick bike, just extortionate prices for parts that never arrive, that and an apparent top end rebuild every 10K miles Thinking

Just buy it, leave the sensible head at home! Better to have a bike you enjoy loads for a few months rather than a bike thats 'ok' for a few years! You only live once! Thumbs Up

Reasons to buy it:

Arrow The looks
Arrow The sound
Arrow The smell
Arrow The tingle of your balls vibrating on the petrol tank when the PV kicks in

Maintenance IS NOT an issue. The cost of parts is, though as you will be working on the bike yourself Wink

OK guys, I know this bike is awesome and cheap, and even if I decide against keeping it, if I sell it on I can easily make myself 1000 euros. These bikes are selling for 3000 to 6000 online.

Now, my real worries are these:

1- It'll be way way way too much power. (sounds silly, but could actually be a problem, lol)

2- I can still get juice out of my DT. I just spent 500 doing an engine rebuild, so it would be annoying to have to sell it so soon.

The money thing I could handle. I'll get it from somewhere. I won't have to commute (public transport FTW) and I can use it purely as a toy. I can learn to repair it. I checked online and a trackday at the barcelona circuit costs 50 euros and I could go twice a month. Perfect Twisted Evil And for the rest, I have the B roads.... I still need a license, but no sweat - I passed once, I can pass again.

See if my dad will forward me 2000 euros until I sell the DT... I gotta agree with you guys, life is for living Wink
