Rare so parts aint gonna be easy. Tiny - smaller than the NSR. Probably not much faster than a derestricted 125.

Goose:
It redlines at just under 20,000rpm, makes 45hp (probably a bit less in 'real world' conditions) and weighs allmost the same as the 400. This means you would have to put *alot* of concentration into riding fast.... Miss a gear change and it'll take you 5 minuites to get back up to speed Smile Confused

And they aint fricking cheap!! Especially not at Box HIll. They're rip-off merchants. You could pick up a CBR400 for around the same. And get a standing 1/4 at just over 13 secs Wink

I sat on one at DK bikes. It really is small, I doubt I would attempt any long journies unless I really had to. I really like them! Although a bike that redlines at 18k RPM is not the most reliable one around

I'd check with the insurers 1st. With it being a sports import it may be more than you ecpect.

Yeah, I found that with the ZXr's - the 400's only about £100 more than the 250.

Not a bad bike but in a pointless position. Not a 125 but the same price as a faster meatier 400.

If you can afford the 400 insurance then that would be the better bike to go for. If you cant then go with the 250.
If you were going to be doing any distance and your much taller than about 5'6" then Id steer clear of the cbr250, its just too cramped. Go for a zxr or a hornet or summat instead cuz theyre bigger.

its not the same price though otherwise i wouldnt consider it

1800 for the cheapest one at boxhill

then up to 2500

over 2500 for a decent 400 in good condition private or trade

If the 250 was considerably cheaper then it'd be worth a look but the bikes are the same price (400's prob a bit cheaper IME) and the insurance would only be a little more.
