yes

nowadays the bikes mix the oil and petrol themselves

my moped has two petrol caps one for oil, one for petrol, then is mixes them together and squirts them into the engine

must have been a hassle back in the days of old

yeah I was given an old moped (worth about a fiver) and I had to mix the fuel with oil in a petrol can before I could use it. Dunno what you'd do on the road if you stopped at a petrol station- right hassle adding the correct amount of oil.

I don't think it was that important to get the exact ammount in - a little too much isn't a big deal. It isn't needed now anyways and 4 strokes never did it.

4 strokes have a seperate oil holder which u need to change, not top up as with 2 strokes. the oil is reused to lubricate the engine, so the engine is more reliable and lasts longer
2 strokes mix the oil and petrol so the engine is lubricated by the shit passin thru it, therefore i wears quicker because it is not properly lubricated and it fires every 2nd not 4th revolution

Hi

Some people with older classic bikes add a small amount of oil to the petrol. Dont know if it does any good, but the Castrol R smells really nice

All the best
