I am going to buy a bike with footboards already fitted as standard but I have been told they can be dangerous.
An example is that if you are cornering and the footboard catches a pothole it can make the bike change direction, or dig in and cause problems for the rider
Anybody got them and if so what do you think about them ? ____________________ CBT Passed, Theory Passed - Practical Passed 9/6/07

I think it's down to personal preference. If you like them, keep them.
You'll find that on a bike with an extreme feet forwards riding position, your feet tend to get blown off the pegs at higher speeds (and the wind and rain goes straight up your trouser legs). Not blown hard enough for them to come off, but enough to cause fatigue through holding them on over any distance. In this case, boards may be a better option.
I had highway pegs on my 125 superdream and you noticed it on that even at 65mph. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
