...How did you not fall off your bike? Very Happy

The one thing I've been waiting for is for a wasp to get inside my lid, as I always ride with the visor slightly open!

Its only open a bit, like 2/3 inch, its mainly because I have to wear specs, otherwise I wouldn't make it off my driveway Sad , and it helps stop them steaming up... But I do get the odd bit of dust in the eye, or a bug in the ear Shocked ...

I had the exact same thing, wasp stung me on the chest - got through a tiny gap where I had the zip down a bit - was riding at around 40mph, hurt like hell! Thought a stone hit me, was expecting to see blood when I undid my jacket... instead a dead wasp fell out Evil or Very Mad

Got stung by one of those suckers at the top of a mountain in the US, yellow jackets I think they call them over there. My leg swelled up to about 3 times its normal size and it itched like hell after the stinging pain had gone away for about 3 days. I always ride with my jacket zipped halfway when its hot. Think I may have to revise that now.

My mate had a rip in the groin of his jeans, a wasp got in and stung his bollock, He promptly dropped his bike at the lights and pulled his strides and skids down in front of all the cars to get the wasp out. Shocked

I hate bees/wasps/hornets.........

Death to all! I've got a scarred childhood from catching them as a child.

I remember running away like a pansy on holiday about 2 years ago in Greece when a big F*** off wasp was chasing me. Head first straight into the sea!

I hit a few of these mothers when I lived in Africa, a bit like a golf ball in the face (yet another looney holding it!).

Dung-beetles do not bite or sting but do have elephant poo on their paws so caution is advised.

Hornet are less aggressive than wasps. They land on you, you don't hit it so it doesn't sting you and won't unless you were to piss it off. Wasp stings hurt as much and the bastards sting you just for the fun of it. Razz

I wear specs too, but I use Bob Heath visor spray on my glasses and a Respro Foggy Anti Fog Mask to deflect my breath downwards, never ride with my visor open rain or shine, all 4 seasons. Karma Thumbs Up

With bees and wasps (and probably hornets too) they'll ignore you if you ignore them. Waving your arms around will antagonise them, and then they'll try and defend themselves. By stinging.

Obviously if it flies in to your leathers it's going to panic. Keep yourself zipped up and you're less likely to get something flying in.

If you kill a bee it gives off a pheromone to call for help which will attract its mates to come and help - and they won't be all that happy...

As for the people letting them crawl over their hands? Well, what's the problem?

Two things guaranteed to rile a wasp/hornet/bee:

1. Vibration (noise)
2. Mammal's breath

so be quiet and hold your breath Wink

I've got a standard breath guard in my lid... and every now and then I smear washing up liquid on my specs... I probably don't even need my visor open at all, I've just got use to it, I like the air-flow anyway!

And I've been known to let wasps and bees crawl across my arms and hands for the fun of it...
