lookin at a different bike, does anyone know of problems?

currently got an er-5. has alot of standard problems depending on the year. the main one is the reg.rec blows and bypass' the fuse box and so blows nearly all electrical components, including tacho and CDI. this is expensive, and can be regular.

was looking at suzuki bandit 600, quite like the looks, what are the problems normally asociated with bandits, or suzukis in general.

i think best bet would be a honda, but the cb500 looks wank, and the cbf is expensive.

why not just get a good bike u ask, well im new to biking, need a commuter, thats a little fun, and something that will run and run as im a student.

Good bikes great fun to ride but the suspension on the earlier ones wasn't the greatest though it might have improved on the newer ones.Finish is pretty budget so make sure you keep it clean especially if you ride all year round.

Corrosion so it seems.

Particularly the collector box which rots. Brakes seem a bit cack if left with no TLC through winter.

I had the er5 as my student run about in my 3rd year. I also had an sv650 and a hornet and a few others but those 2 are quite good. How far is your commute out of curiosity?
