how much it draws?? or how much it can handle??
it draws next to nothing, thats the point of a relay,
it can handle about 50amps, same as most starter relays

a starter relay can with stand with out breaking about 50A
the reley itself only uses about 1Watt of power (about 0.1A)
the starter motor uses the power not the relay

Hi, Im looking for a Malaguti Drakon wiring diagram. I can't find anything about this bike in terms of this. The books that came with the bike tell me nothing and to contact a Malaguti dealer, which isnt an option for me, I live in Cumbria. Any help would be great.

Hi All

i have 2 1980 (1978) kl250's (klr250) both of which the electrics have been majorly mucked with. one of which ill have to make my own wiring harness (simplified to the max Razz)

i have searched through the internet but to no avail. i have tried comparing it to other single cylinder cdi diagrams, also to no avail.

it would be awesome if someone could help with a wiring diagram

hmmmm ok then, you might have to send me details of the wires that come out of the cdi (still cdi and not points???) and the reg/rec(are they 1 unit or 2 seperate peices, eg zenor diode and old skool rectifier) battery or not

how basic a diagram do you want??? bare essentials with or with out alternator,
has it got a single phase alternator/generator or 3 phase???

if you can give me some details i should be able to come up with some thing (do you need a key, or is ust a kill switch enough, eg is it just off road of use)

i bet if i was there i could have the bad boy running in half an hour Very Happy shame im on the other side of the world Very Happy

im at a friends house at the moment and cant get to the bike until the weekend

its a 6 volt system that can be as simple as possible just a kill switch, im not sure if i want a battery

and, yes the bike is cdi

it has 5 wires coming off the bike (excluding impulse generator)

2 yellow (goes to voltage regulator)
1 black (unknown)
1 red/brown (its quite dirty, unknown)
1 green (earth or neutral switch)

sourcing parts for it, in australia, have been a pain in the butt, we've ended up importing parts from america because no one stocks bits for these bikes any more

will post more info when i get back home

Hi all

I have scanned the site and cannot for the life of me find the diagram i am looking for. If anyone knows where i can find the wiring diagram for an 84' Yamaha TT 600L i Would appreciate it. It seems everywhere i look i get pointed in the direction of the XT550/600 diagram which has many more electrical components and the diagram is impossible for me to read. Thanks in advance!

i have had a closer look at both bikes what wires there are compared them to a later model kawasaki and this is wat i have come up with (with actuall kawasaki wiring colours) i actually broke the ignition lock figuring it out

and new zealand isnt exactly half way round the world from australia Wink

i made the harness and tested it and it worked, yaaay Very Happy
i tested it with the motor on the workbench using a ignition coil borrowed from another 6 volt bike and a ratchet on the stator

i also know now that i only need the cdi box for it to run. i only need the rec/reg for lights, horn, etc which im not using cause the compliance plate was sandblasted clean.
