I am about to apply for my provisional liscence both for car and motorcycle, and I dont understand the booklet. I asked the woman at the post office but she just said to read the booklet. Rolling Eyes

Do I need to apply for two seperate liscences? And if not what happens when I pass one, dont they take it and change to full?

Thanks
Pyro

You need to apply for a provisional with Bike entitlement - there is a box to tick on the form somewhere near the bottom iirc.

All provisional licences will give you class B (cars) whether you get bike entitlement or not.

In my case I have a provisional entitlement to drive cars and a full entitlement to ride motorbikes. I have the natty pink licence with what I am fully licenced to ride on the back of the card. Vehicles I have a provisional entitlement to ride only appear on the paper counterpart in a special 'provisional entitlement' section.

Ok I found the right box I think. What happens when you pass one then? do you get a full liscence with provisional entitlement of the other variety? or another provisional + full?

You end up with a full licence with provisional entitlements for other catagories of vehicles, same as I have now.

You only have the one licence - so if you get points or a ban then that will see you both four wheels and two wheels hoowever you picked up the points/ban.
