My headlights are pretty pitted from stones etc, I have a polishing kit that attaches to a drill.

I'm pretty sure in school Cool we used to sand down acrylic then buff it up with a similar mop which took it to a mirror finish almost.

Naturally if I lightly sand with some wet'n'dry then polish up with a mop it shouldn't cause any problems?

Most important thing is to keep the piece you are polishing moving ... otherwise you'll overheat the acrylic ... the more you can rub down with W'n'D before you start polishing the better ... and as the link above says ... use plenty of water (hold it under the tap if possible).

Have fun ... Barry
