Hi everyone
I've been out of the "saddle" for nearly 10 years, (wiped out on my ZZR1100 - broken collar bone!!), but finally have made my return!
Wasn't sure what to get to start with so plonked for a 99 NSR125R..The NSR was my second bike after making the mistake of getting a KE100 LMAO!!
I chose the 125cc as I wasn't sure if I would even be able to ride again..collar bone reset wrong!
Within 10 mins of picking the bike up I was knocked off it by some nipple in his volvo..."Sorry mate I didn't see you....I'd like to point out that I was wearing hiVis and it was broad daylight!! So I can see nowt has changed with respect to car drivers over the past 10 years....
Anyhoo after a quick jaunt to the garage the bikes back on the road...something else I've noticed..not sure if its just a Milton Keynes thing but I always used to acknowledge other bikers out on the roads...has this now stopped? as I passed a couple today and even though I acknowledged them, I was completely blanked!
Maybe the NSR is now deemed pants and only losers ride them??? Still, compared to the new CBR125 I think the NSR is the better bike!
Safe biking to all

Welcome to BCF
...and even after 10 years you'll still notice incosiderate cagers, and the occasional "blank" biker.
Maybe I'm in the minority (I hope not) but I always acknowledge other bikers out on the road. ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

Bad luck on the blind cager, but I think you made a good choice on the nsr
Not all bikers will nod back, often you'll find riders are busy concentrating on whats up ahead. You'll find they'll nod more often in 30/40 zones than nationals or on dual carriage ways. ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. Present: 97 ER-5.

Matt from milton keynes? You dont live in newport pagnell do you.... And welcome to bcf.
I dont get many people nod at me in milton keynes to be honest, out of 5 bikes i see on the A5 each morning i'd be lucky if 2 nodded at me. I think its just because its the early morning commute. What colours your bike incase i see you about in mk? ____________________ Cbr1100xx blackbird gone, mk4 golf gt tdi chav now

Many thanks to you all for the welcome!
My bike is the standard 99 NSR red and Blue with Aluminum frame...on a T plate..it's going into the shop next week for a week, my plan is to do my very best to return the vehicle back to "New" condition.
Yes I am Matt from Newport Pagnell but I'm sure there are several Matt's living in Newport...Can you tell me who you are NB?
I've taken a look around for parts and bits for the bike...not that it needs a huge amount doing...already derestricted...Arrow exhaust..etc etc.
I'm on for meeting up anyone else in MK or close by for a "Saturday morn sprint" etc
Are there any local bike meets in MK? I know there is a Honda club but it appears to be in Wellingborough.
Anyhoo thanks again...
Safe riding to all
