First let me say hello. I am new, and ignorant about bikes. I just got this bike from my neighbor for free, so Im into them now.

I need either a Tech manual or a wiring diagram to start putting this bike back together. Can anyone help me out in this dept??

The Engine family is NSK059944A7.
The Odom shows 11057 miles.
I dont have all the skins yet, so I cant tell you what specific style this bike is. But I do know it is a 92.

Any help or cautions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Happy riding.

That doesn't look like a Suzuki engine No.

My engine number is like this: N123-123456 so you've got something wrong or its been messed with.

Anyway wiring diagram here: https://server6.theimagehosting.com/image.php?img=katana600.89-96.JPG&album=25068

Search the web, there's quite a few places that will let you download a manual. Can't beat a paper one though, normally go for a couple of quid on Ebay.

I got the engine family number off of the sticker on the left front of the frame. It was with the emissions stuff.

Thanks for the wiring diag. that helps a lot. any idea where the best place to buy parts is? I already know it needs a new ignition. It has no key.

if the engine is the same as the oil cooled bandit and gsxr engine, then the engine number will be on the right hand side of the engine just above the oil filler cap.The number youve taken from the head stock or frame tube is the frame number.good luck.tim

Well that's not the engine No. or a Frame No.

You say emissions stuff, where is this bike from?

I think you may have a California model if it has all the emissions gubbins.

It's questionable whether its worth repairing, as a low value bike it would probably be very cheap to pick one up as opposed to sorting this one and if this one is as I suspect a Cali model it will always be about 20% down on power.

I was able to get it to turn over this morning, so that is good news. I also ordered a repair manual so I can sort out where all the fuel lines and vacuum lines go. It seems though that there is something missing, as I still have wires with no home. Is it common to have wires left over, say for extras that didnt come on the bike?? I know it is common in cars, but there again, I know very little about bikes.

It can be. The replacement looms are generic for all markets so often have bits left over.
