Oh man getting apprehensive now,

a final couple of questions:

SD cards and internet cafes, some folks like Nath esp during should I bring a laptop type questions say that many net cafes will be happy for you to upload pictures , I'm thinking erm how so? , have net cafes in your experience had card readers or did you bring your own or did you just take a ton of photos then upload them once you got home?.

C spanners? , erm not owning a chain bike for ages won't a normal spanner that goes around the big rear bolts do? , I'm not lacking for space btw as I have 110 litres and only seem to have filledabout 50 litres of space + jerry can.

Pieage/Hotel forumulae1 , accept CCs?

I've got cable ties , gaffa tape , a nice spanner selection spare plugs, tyre sealant, break down cover , replaced all my cables , and a tarp , need anything more (intend to do it soft first time ie hotels) .

Exchange money here or there? ie for best exchange rates?.

Other than imodium what other (legal) drugs should I take , I don't take pain killers ever so this is ok.

Where is a decent place to buy a compass?

Thanks.

Yes, not sure you can pay with any other means in a Formule1 anyway, certainly not after hours. Pieage? Do you mean "peage" (motorway toll)? Yes, but as it'll only be a couple of euros, carry cash, much quicker.

Spare bulbs & waterproofs. Extra bungees. If you use the plastic single use cable ties, make sure you've got something to cut them with. I prefer to use these velcro ones, as they're reusable and don't scratch the bike. List of main dealers en-route, in case you do need to get the bike fixed.

Why exchange, when you can take it out at an ATM at a cheaper rate?

Antihistamines, as even if you don't normally suffer from hayfever, going abroad may trigger it, as you won't necessary have immunity to the local pollen. I'd also suggest an antihistamine pen should you be stung by an angry wasp. I'd still take painkillers, in case you have a headache and need to ride 10h non-stop to catch your train/ferry back.

Any shop that sells camping gear.

I'd recommend you take a puncture repair kit. maybe some spare bulbs. Also as well as taking spare bungees take a cargo net.

If you have plenty of space I'd recommend you take some camping gear just incase as it gives you the option to change your mind when your over there if you find somewhere nice over there.

Moreover, the creditcard machines are automatic and by using a card the machine assumes you're a car, not a bike. Use change, and the manned booth, and you'll save a shitload in peage tolls.

Itchy, about your photo's.....

Your only going for 14 days aren't you? Are you really needing to stop off at an internet cafe and upload photographs? Laughing

If you really must I'd still advise against taking your laptop, It'll just be another thing to be concerned about in terms of security, space taken up, damage from accidents or damage from anything else.

If your needing to transfer photographs onto an internet cafe computer you can take the USB lead of the camera with you and connect it up like that or get a multi card reader, such as:
https://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/I/415PJKT9TCL._AA280_.jpg

The computers may not have a card reader, but they should most certainly have a USB port.

I have an Iriver mp3 player that can connect up to the camera and can have photos transfered directly to it without the need for a computer.

Just buy a few memory cards and wait until you get back.

Good luck on your trip, best of luck to you

Thumbs Up
