I've not had my bike that long - but i'm noticing that as standard, the bike is far too quiet. I do a lot of filtering, do everything I can to make myself known on the road (by what I wear and my defensive riding), but would like a louder can, to help make that little bit more of a difference.

I'd like something loud (and legal Wink ), but also aesthetically pleasing.

I love the look of the blueflame range https://www.blueflameperformance.com/bike/evo_race_cans.asp (especially the dual port and evo ranges), but would be open to the idea of a yoshimura or akrapovic. Only want a slip on, not a system, and my budget is approximately £250-£300.

Any recommendations?

Loud is ok for bimbling about but on longer runs its just an annoying drone that will give you a headache. So be careful what you get as some are just going to spoil the bikes sound.

I had a scorpion on my GSXR, wasn't too loud, but had quite a monotonous, droning tone to it - wouldn't mind something a bit raspier, something that sounds nice at full chat! Very Happy

Thats what I found. Great on a thrash, not so great on full days out and/or riding round town. To me, an IL4 with loud pipe sounds great at high speed/revs, but rubbish below 8K, which is why I went back to standard. Twins seem to sound nice at all revs though.

I must be getting old, but I really like the fairly quiet, high pitched turbine sound that the new triumphs, especially the 675, make.

I had a Blue flame Evo & TBH it wasn't very loud, same with Akrapovics. Currently got a Mivv GP racing can on, the sound is good quality, seems to get attention at bike meets & at £200 new, can't go wrong. Smile
They're both nice looking cans tho.

Oh yea, it's bloody loud but it's e-marked too.

See the connection from the can to the manifold pipes, does that usually come with the can, as I've seen quite a few 2nd hand cans but without any connector pipes.

Yup, they come like that brand new but obviously second hand they might not.

Unless you are going to get deafening straight through pipes don't bother - most accidents are from headon where the majority of the sound increase won't be...
