Poop, I was repairing a wire which had burnt itself out just below my ignition. The Wire was one of three coming from the imobiliser (HISS) into the wiring loom. The wire has been soldered now, and seems to be a good job.
How-bloody-ever, whilst doing this, one of the other wires decided to detach itself from the bloody imobiliser barrel thing! So now I'm left with a wire, and a wee tiny stub of a wire on the imobaliser that I have to solder. This is obviously made much more difficult, as the wires enter the bottom of the imobiliser, thus i would like to remove the top yolk, and the imobiliser along with it.
i have the stem nut off, and already had the forks removed, but the yolk seems not to want to budge. I've hit it a bit with a hammer, but not really getting very far.
just wondering if this is right, service manual says "remove stem nut and remove fork top bridge."
Edit; got the yolk off, Had a lot of bother trying to get the old solder to melt. eventually got the wires all in secure-ish. They aren't going to fall out, but i doubt they would stand a lot of abuse.
would it be ok to silicone them in place, so they don't short and to secure them? ____________________ My Bikes - - - Royal Enfield 500 with sidecar, VFR800, CBR600FX,

Who ever had it before me never did anything to look after it, and when I crashed, it seems that everything that was held together by spit and a prayer just shook itself loose lol.
Good thing is though, I have her stripped, and am putting everything back together properly now, so it will be good as new when its done lol. ____________________ My Bikes - - - Royal Enfield 500 with sidecar, VFR800, CBR600FX,
