Right, I'm bidding on a micron end can for my 99 cbr600f. This bike i know inside out.

the seller has a photo of the can attached to a cbr, which he insists is a 99 cbr600f, but clearly it is an older model. So do I put it down to a simple mistake, or is he trying to fob me off with a can that wont fit?

Item number: 140130098142

I'd say it's clearly a '99! For example here: https://www.bikepics.com/members/biker78/99cbr600/ in the exact same colours but with the standard can on.

But how come this is also a 99 cbr600f https://www.bikepics.com/pictures/903475/, surely there cant be two models of the same bike released in the same year? My bike is like the one in my link, which is defiantly a CBR600FX or F4 depending on what country you're in. Might give Bendy a PM if i cant get this sorted soon, she has the same bike as me lol.

Also, heres the same bike as the sellers in the 1998 section, I think hes got his years wrong lol https://www.bikepics.com/pictures/879478/

It could be that the bike was registered in 1999 but is a 1998 model. For example my 125 was registered in January 2004 even though it was on a 53 plate (so a 2003 model). So maybe he has just got it wrong, but I don't think he's intentionally trying to rip you off! Smile .

It may be that the engine, carbs etc and therefore the exhaust are exactly the same for the 2 models of bike anyway. The only difference I can see between the 2 bikes is the position and number of vents on the side fairings.

I don't think it is a con, just a bit of confusion.

Check out some exhaust can listings to see if the same end can fits both model bikes. If it does then that should fit your bike okay. Thumbs Up
