It's that time of year once more. The first bands have been announced and the Hippy is putting out a shout for all those good BCFers that feel like coming for a weekend of beer, music, beer, good company and MORE beer!

Those of you that have been before know what it's all about, for those that don't it's a very relaxed rally with a good size custom show and a few good bands on the main stage on the Friday and Saturday (and some not so good ones in the beer tent!).

As ever, it's the last weekend in July with the campsite open from Thurs - Sun (26th - 29th July) and also as ever, myself and MrsHippy will be heading up on the Thursday to get a good camping patch Thumbs Up

More details and ticket ordering can be found at www.rockandblues.uk.com

So - anyone thinking of joining us again this year?

Do you know, all these years of going to rallies and I've never done the rock n blues?

We were only saying the other day we might give it a go this year.

So maybe! Smile

I know I said this last year but I might actually try and turn up this year, be good to spend a whole weekend drunk in a field. So they have showers and clean toilet facilities right?

How much were the showers again...? £5 for 3 minutes?

You'll just have to smell and wait to use the Sainsbury's loos like the rest of us Razz

fjrat - what happened? There were a lot of 'kids' in caps there last year, most notably the guy who thought he was cool by peeing into (well around) a beer bottle in the middle of the arena but we didn't see any trouble.

He 'grabbed' her, she came back to stall in tears.

I then spent the following 90 minutes looking for him - I was ready to rip his head off. Considering the number of security running round in 4x4s all weekend, not one to be found when needed.

Too many chavs there - they see it as a cheap alternative to the glasto's, V festivals etc.

1 field for bikes and 4 for cars/vans/caravans.... The ratio of chav to bikers is too high Shocked

Is that a correct ratio? For a bike show? Shocked FFS that puts me right off going that does.

If that ratio is correct, it's a little misleading (lies, damn lies & statistics etc...). It needs to be looked at in context.

I went in a car last year, and so parked in the car field. As did my 3 mates on bikes.

Cars/vans etc use more space than bikes, so WILL need more space - especially when they're joined by the bikes that aren't in the bike only section!!!

I heard a lot about the 'chav invasion', but it didn't seem that bad to me (granted it was my first RBCS, so nowt to compare with). But we got no hassle at all (4 lasses).

So looking forward to returning Thumbs Up Cool

Errr I think you "bikers" are missing something.

You could fit many more bikes in ONE field than you could cars in 4 fields. Deary me. Laughing

Yarr, RnB!!!! Mr. Green

Cars are necessary for taking gazebo's and general excessive amounts of everything (specifically beer), for trips to Sainsbury's to get more beer and to use their toilets, plus cars provide entertainment as people try to drive around the campsite when its muddy. Razz

In all my years of going to the RnB (I don't want to think how many!) I have never seen any trouble. Like Mudskipper said, the reason there are fields for cars (actually only 2 for cars) is that if one person in a group has a car then it's easier for the whole group to camp in the car area. Besides the bike field (which is BIG) always gets full by Friday night and they put everyone in to the car field anyway.

Dont let it put you off if you've never been. On the whole its got everything needed for a great event, with what appears to be good security.

We just had a bad experience made worse by lack of security when it was really needed, topped off by the fact I couldn't find the little scrote to rip his head off.

There was an aerial photo of the 2005 site on last years programme, and there was definately more cars etc than bikes. It seems to be happening more & more with a lot of the bike events we've been to, attracting chav who see it as a cheap music festival. We've just made a choice to go to rallies aimed solely at bikers.

Most of the rallies that I go to that allow cars don't actually allow them on the campsite, which seems to be the big difference here.

For example, at the Bulldog all the cars are parked up outside the perimeter fence (except disabled) and you walk in with your gear to the nearest free camping spot. Bikes can ride in obviously and be parked up near/next to your tent. Same at Stormin. Most of the other rallies we do are much smaller and don't allow (or at least encourage) cars anyway! "No cars, no pedestrians, no excuses" to quote MAG!

I'm not necessarily saying we won't go, just that it puts me off a bit. I'm a bit funny like that, I can't somehow get my head round going to a bike rally in a car........... Confused probably just me.

I've also found from personal experience that there seems to be much more petty theft at rallies where there are a lot of cars and not quite the same atmosphere. That may just be me too though!

Never heard of anyone losing anything whilst there tbh babyyam. Most groups with a car are one or two cars and a load of bikes like the bcf group. It's good for people who arent riding at the moment and , like ste said, carrying loads of stuff to the site. I've been the last 2yrs with bcf and both times had a really good laugh. The Hippies have got it sorted. One car full of stuff and about 11 bikes last year. Even though there is a car field, it still feels like a biker party to me. I hope you'll give it a try, it would be good to see you there. Personally I think its worth going just to se the levellers again , they are soooooooooooo good live Very Happy and of course the chance to be a pirate again for a whole weekend! arrrrr
