Anyone got/had one of these?

I'm very happy with the ZX9, but a bandit 12 has come up locally thats interested me. 2000 regisitration but with only 390 genuine miles. Its on for £3k which is obviously a lot for a 7 year old bandit, but not so much for a new one, which this effectively is.

I like the idea of a muscle bike, as its the torque I really like, rather than top end (the reason I moved from a 600 to a 900), plus I want a mint bike, and to get mine to that would cost more than its worth.

I suppose I'll just pop down and go for a test ride, but I'm wondering if its worth it. Its strange that in group tests of the big naked bikes like the XJR1300, CB1300 etc the bandit is never in them - it is cos they are a class below?

Hi

It is a cheaper bike than those other 2.

Build quality isn't great. Engine is bomb proof and can easily be tuned. As standard very torquey. Comfy. Good enough brakes (rear caliper seizes the pins in place though). Handling does the job. Decent on petrol and with a decent size tank.

All the best

Keith
