Probably asking a really bone question, but how can you easily tell the difference. I've just got an exhaust and either they have given me the wrong can(and I've been overcharged) or the wrong instructions.

Is Titanium magnetic, because I know stainless is.

titanium isnt magnetic, stainless might be but it depends on the chrome content. The more chrome ( and more corrosion resistant), the less magnetic it is.

What he said. Good quality stainless won't be magnetic.

Titanium is probably half the weight of stainless. If your silencer is stainless it'll be quite heavy. Titanium also tends to be a dull, rather than polished finish.

Unless it's TiNi plate over polished stainless or mild steel which looks like rainbow coloured chrome..

Spray it with WD40, if it wipes off with no marks its stainless. If it messes up the looks & ruins the can totaly by leaving big grease spots its Ti. Shocked Confused

Look at your bank account. If you still have cash in it it is SS, if it is empty it is Titanium.
