Just wondering if anyone here works for them as I have today been offered the job of Safe Driving Advisor, heading up the driver safety programme for all 18,500 UK drivers.

Just want an idea of what they are like as a firm to work for before I commit.

I work for them down in southampton...........

I work for SEC ( contracting division ) but we are technically all the same company now.

I think working for sse is a secure job to be in and just recently they gave every employee £150 bonus and £50 shares for the resent profits theyve made............Not many that do that!

Also if you wanna work your way up the ladder sse is a big enough company to do it and they love that kinda stuff!

Since there was a young driver killed about 3 months back driving a company van after hitting the back of a parked artic on the motorway!, i'm sure they'll be pushing the safe driving thing very hard now...... as they have been for the last few months.

Drug driving will also be pushed too i think as the young lad that had the accident had canabis in his blood its been revealed this week.

Hope that gives a bit of an insite and i would say yea, sse are good to work for!

Thanks for that, I appreciate it.

Not really much chance of climbing the ladder as such as I will be a team of one if I accept the job, and I will be responsible for setting and enforcing policy, driver assesments and removal of driving permits where applicable, education, training and accident investigation.

I will be based in Reading, but my patch will be form Bodmin down in the south west, across to Dover and then up as far as Leeds, possibly a bit further until they appoint someone in Scotland which will probably not be for several months.

But thanks for the feed back, gives me somnething to think about Thumbs Up

Work for SSE up in Perth in the supply side of the company.

Good company to work for.... look after their staff, good pension, good benefits.
Company is pushing very hard to be one of the safest employers in the Europe .. think they are already top in the UK, so I think your job would have good security.

All in all Thumbs Up
Hope that helps

Jay
