Dozy Drivers

Hi

On Monday we went to a computer fair in Wolvo. Going down the A449 following another vehicle a Mondeo pulls out in front of us (both of us in the overtaking lane at that moment, slower moving car on the left), then sees us and stops blocking both lanes of the dual carraigeway.

Vehicle in front doesnt have a hope in hell of stopping. It just about gets around the front of the Mondeo and then goes up the curb onto the central reservation, probably still doing 30~40mph at the time. I just about manage to stop in time.

To add to the fun, the dozy pilchard managed to miss not a pair of bikes but 2 cars. The one in front was a black BMW M3 and I was in a red Alfa 33. The BMW suffered a buckled front rim, broken fog light, cracked bumper and bent front suspension wishbone (at least), plus a nervous wreck as a passenger (who had only just started to recover from an existing kneck injury!)

The guy in the Mondeo was very lucky. If the BMW driver hadnt been awake then he would have T boned the Mondeo while doing at least 30mph. I doubt anyone would have walked out of the Mondeo, and suspect a few would have been carried for their (few) remaining journies
