I've seen adverts for some dealers selling "brand" new bikes that are up to 4 years old. Some of these are "good" bikes and the looks still appeal to me. What are the disadvantages? Thanks

Most likely to be pre-registered models to boost up the dealer sales. disadvantage is that you wont be the first name on the V5 Form. But if not, then there really shouldn't be anything wrong with them. They should all be subjected to the same level of service and warranty as the brand new 06/07 models. In some cases, if they are classic bikes as in the case of an original 1985 GSXR 750, it'll cost a FUCK load.

But depends on how cheap they are and what level service is provided and also how "dodgy the dealers" are
