Hello

I took my cbt on thursday and i have to say it is one of the best things i have ever decided to do. I had been thinking about doing it since last summer but never really got round to it for some reason.

The whole day was just great as sunny but near the end it started to rain and wind picked up abit but even then it was still fun.

I did stall it a few times at the lights, instructor reckoned it was because i wasn't in 1st.

I read a few things about cbt from this forum and a website which helped me alot and i found when doing U turns and figure of 8 soon as you looked at where you wanted to go the bike went which i found amazing.

During my road part of the CBT a biker and his passenger gave me a nod Very Happy which i just found cool.

If anybody is unsure if they can do it i went from never riding a bike to now being able to ride on the road in a day and its just amazing i want to go out for a ride now but just need a road legal bike as the honda c70 isnt Laughing

Congratulations on the CBT, f1fan111, and welcome to biking Smile

Good luck, and enjoy your day, deanoet. It's a long day, but very fun.

did my cbt saturday, passed but the other guy who was doing it failed Sad

couple of things went wrong for us though, firstly the guy taking the cbt was being tested by the dsa (just checking he's doing his job, that sort of thing). which meant everything had to be done by the book. was off road for about 4 hours turning at pretend junctions and doing u turns etc.

the bikes werent the best either. battery was flat on the 'ped the other guy was on and i was on a peugeot snake (think thats what it's called) which had the craziest throttle ever. wouldnt kick in untill the throttle was about half way round, then it flew. was a right pain in the arse for u turns and slow riding.

but apart from that the road part was great. kept forgetting to switch indicators off and cut corners a few times at first but after that all went ok. went through a swarm of little flies at one point which wasnt nice. definately left my visor closed after that Smile.

instructor did a great job. he said he would have passed the ther guy if the dsa man wasn't there. main problem was he was hesitating a lot at junctions. even when there was no traffic he was stopping and checking a lot.

definately worth what i payed for it though. learnt a lot about road positioning, how to use junctions and roundabouts properly etc.
very helpful having an instructor shouting down the radio too, would have been a bit scared going out by myself.

can't wait till i get myself a bike so i can get out on the roads, shouldnt be long now Very Happy

P.S sorry about the long post hehe
