Brunstrom at it again.

Seems he wants to inflict a 40mph limit on a large area just to annoy bikers into not going there.

The chief constable does not decide the speed limit. The council would do that.....

Does anyone else wonder if Brunstrom might be a prolific sheep shagger then? LOL

When I used to go to Ogwen Cottage and milestone buttress I was frequently buzzed by military jets! Does this still happen? Bikes are not quite in the same league noise wise.

The problem would appear that it's a long time since the N in MCN was relevant.

Rather than news they just appear to go in for sensationalism and scaremongering nowadays (IMO of course, feel free to point out I'm wrong with illustrated examples).

Thumbs Up

Yes, it was rather satisfying dishing out some home truths to Mr B. Appropriate feedback given together with my proper e-mail address in the (probably unlikely) event that North Wales police want to send a response.

I do agree with you there. It seems every week, there's a story on the front page such as "Bikes to be restricted to 20bhp", "Bikes to be banned" and "Apache gunships on the lookout for speeding bikes". I bought a few when I started getting into bikes and thought it just seems to be doom and gloom all the time! I don't bother anymore now!

TBH if what MCN is saying is true (which it COULD actually be) Brunstrom needs the boot.

what he has done in the past is just sickening and if he wants to add to his reputation then let it be......just dont ever let him into parliament.....

And yes, the RAF training aircraft the Hawk still zoom around most of wales at low altitudes (same aircraft as the red arrows use), seen te odd eurofighter around there to......and fluck me are they loud.......dont see tem getting banned.

Welcome to journalism, my friend!

That is what SELLS.

Gore, death, danger and hyperbole headlines is how Marc Potter and all newspaper editors earn their living. MCN is identical to typical Daily Mail hysteria. Lies and rumours bring money, truth barely lasts.

Dunno about ogwen cottage but ive sat by ogwen lake several times and often they come punting through the valley above the lake. I think its ace personally.

I'm assuming the road hes on about is the A5...?

Gotta hand it to the welsh, they know how to build a good racetrack Very Happy
Admittedly they dont have a clue how to ride it the stoneless buggers, but they did build it.

And if you build it... they shall come Very Happy

I was talking to a retired police officer just a few days ago who was adamant that Brunstrom is a "fucking idiot" who just "wastes money on the next big thing". I was told "if there is a new product out for the police to use, he'll be first in the queue writing a multi-million pound cheque just so that he can have his name in the paper for North Wales being the first police force in the country to have it", and went on to say "no wonder North Wales police is almost bankrupt".
I first met the guy during a shoot with Harriet Harman. At the shoot someone said to me "he's only here to rub shoulders with a politician"

I don't like the guy.

I dont like the guy either or for what he stands for , he draws attention to the North Wales police force for the wrong reasons , which is quite a shame as this guy has built up such a following and alot of press , if he had any gaul about him he would use this publicity for the right reasons ie criminals , rape , murderand gather gretly deserved support , but what does he do he just continues to be a total twat and continue to focus on supporting druggies to the best of his abilities and slater the innocents of which come the bikers .

Fook him and the sooner he has gone the better , however i also hear his no 2 is far worse for torment of bikers . Crying or Very sad

I just posted:

I think the problem is Richard being so adamant on bikers being big, bad and notorious for unacceptable behavior when that's not how they/we are now, all we hear is how bikers are in the wrong, all the statistics, yet how many of these road accident statistics don't involve motorcycles? How many where the car has been in the wrong? If there is a 40MPH limit put in place, how many young folk in cars are going to overtake where it's not safe and take a bike/another car out? If anything we need speed limits increased - traffic going faster, less congestion and no need for camera's in silly places. Let's be fair, a member of the police force with his frame of mind isn't going to get anybody anywhere fast.

Under My 2 cents if.when appears. Cool

TBH, I was thinking a nice round 100 on motorways, 80 dual carriageways and most other increased by 10 or 20 mph but keep 20/30 the same.

Many top traffic people think this is a perfectly safe and viable solution. I wonder why we never hear about it. Could it be that it would go against the "speed kills" campaign.

Which has truth, but those limits on those roads would do more good than harm Imo.
