Right, just got off the phone to the insurance company(For those who haven't read my previos thread my motorbike was stolen) and they have to have a telephone interview with me reguarding the theft. They told me I had to have my MIT Certificate(What the hell is that?) My Motorcycle Log Book(Is this the Service Log Book?) and my my police Crime Number, which I got.

So basicaly, is the Log book that they mentioned the Service Log?

And what is the MIT Certificate?

Unless you have specified a very low mileage which they want confirmed by the service log, what they actually mean is the Vehicle Registration Document (V5)

MIT Certificate

Sure they didn't mean MOT certificate?

Well the Bike was made in 2006, so it doesn't need a MOT for another 2 years.
Ok cool, I got all the documents set up. As for a certificate, is there any other kind of certificate that they might want. The only Certificates I have is:

-Certificate of motor insurance
&
-CBT Certificate

MIT Certificate? Did you speak to someone from Birmingham perchance? I'd agree they mean MOT, and if your bike is less than 3 years old it won't have one.

As TC said, log book is V5C registration document.

All the insurers want to do is ensure that it was a genuine theft and not a false claim.

If it is all genuine, (which I am sure it is) then you have nothing to worry, and consider yourself lucky as quite often victims of theft receive personal visits from loss adjusters or claims investigators.

Even though your bike does not require an MOT, they probably have a standard speel and include it within their standard instructions.

Just have all your documents at the ready, and I am sure all will be fine!
