Body Armour opinion

As the weather is getting hotter I was thinking to ditch the jacket get the t-shirt on and get me one of these to wear for protection. What do you guys think of this?
I saw a couple bikers wearing back protectors yesterday while they had t-shirts on but nothing to protect the shoulders or elbows, so need your opinions pleeeease Thumbs Up

It doesn't stay put in an off, it requires something over it to hold it in the correct position (a leather jacket for instance, which puts you right back to square one).

I thought that it came with that cloth thing they are attached on? otherwise it would take me ages to put it all on and take off etc? it looks like it all connected ot that which i zip up and fasten to myself?

It's fine for protecting against impacts, but will be useless without leather on top of it, as the plastic armour will be worn thru in about 1/2 a second.

Then you're grating skin and bone on tarmac again

I wear body armour and a tshirt for stunt riding.

Basically, as Hetzer says...

It's great for impact, but completely useless at protecting against gravel rash.. I fell off at about 5mph went over handlebars and got really bad road rash on both my arms + elbow... have done this a few times now Laughing

There is no way I'd ride on the road with just body armour... and this is coming from someone who stunt rides in trainers, jeans and a tshirt Laughing

Personally I'd say get a lightweight textile jacket over the armour, then you have some gravel rash resistance and some impact resistance and still cooler (temperature wise) than wearing a leather jacket.

Got one of these last week - Richa Scirocco - lots of mesh panels, elbow shoulder and back "armour".

i got some body armour to wear under my leather jacket and i fucking hate it, its annoying and gets in the way plus u look like a tit when u take your jacket off and are wearing basicly a stocking with plastic stiched on it.

if you want it you can have mine for 20 quid (cost 100 quid new)

but its crap to ride in

I have one. I wear it on the longer trips, in shitty weather or low confidence days.

After 3 years r so it is fucked. I was wwearing it under my leather when I went down and I honestly think it saved my collarbone.

A couple of summers ago I wore it under a denim jacket for my round town runs.
