Hi, shortly I will be touring Scotland, west side (innit), and hoping to stay round Inverness, two quick questions, anyone up for it, and secondly, anyone live in that kinda area that would be happy to put me up for the night (or two)

Many thanks in advance!

Chriss

Jump onto the Scottish section and ask about, you never know.

Valver is in Granton (not quite west) but we have some resident proper Highlanders that are up near Sutherland IIRC.

How far away is shortly? Laughing

Me and a mate are talking about going over to Scotland within the next couple of months for a few days of touring.

It was only brought up in conversation so its likely it won't be for a few months yet but would love a report with loads of pics mate Thumbs Up

Good luck Karma

Ok, either way, it's the area I'm planning to stay there, and it looks north and centre...

You're welcome to stay at mine.
If you are female. Rolling Eyes

Or you could just say you are. I would never be able to tell.

I'm too far saff any how.

Do not listen to them Chriss.

If you want Inverness to be in the West then we will make it so.

Inverness is in the middle!

Maybe not geographically or mile-wise, but it was always the half-way stop between Aberdeen and Skye for me. Razz

Inverness is only 1 hour from Ullapool which is on the west. Its a great road too but you might find it better going right up north and catch Inverness on the way back down. Thumbs Up

I think Chriss is kinda basing this on my mutterings a while back. When I did Scotland last month (in the car but for the same reasons) I based myself in Inverness as Travelodge were doing a very cheap deal and it was nice and 'central' for the bits of Scotland that are worthwhile (oooh controversial!)

So that was one day doing the top bit (JOG, Ullapool), one day going over to Skye and back, one day down to Glencoe and around the Oban-y kinda bits (stayed in Perth that night, takes a little bit off the slog home the next day). Of course, you need to account for being shagged after the long ride up from the evil south, so the first day could always be a gentle mooch around the Aviemore kinda area, maybe go over to Craigellachie and buy lots of cheap shortbread to fuel the next three days of twisty fun.

We have noted your comment and you will be dealt with accordingly.

You will be made to ride Glencoe Naked through driving sleet and rain wearing just 'Harris Tweed' Leathers. Laughing

I bet you'll come back... Wink
