i just got pulled for speeding doing 51 mph in a 30mph zone i got a £60 fine and 3 points , i think i got of lightly considering my rear tyre was bald, race can,and no restrictors.
any way what i want to know is do the 3 pionts go on my bike licence or is it included on the whole licence which includes car aswell, cus i have had my bike licence for nearly a year now which means i would have 1 year left for the maximum of 6 points on my bike .

cheers

51 in a 30 zone...tut...tut

leave the speedin for country roads

Your licence is one, so get another 3 points and you lose it, bike and car.

Did yuo ask for a calibration certificate for the gun?... once you know they're gonna do you it's worth doing it... if they don't have one they can't use it as eveidence.

agreed.

30 zones are there for a reason, and the more people insist on speeding like loons through them, the harder the plod are going to clamp down on us.

oh yeah i think i learned me lesson,
leave the speeding to the backroads now.
the only real reason i was speedin was cus i was tryin to overtake this granny in a tin can fiesta doing 20 , but thats no excuse though is it really.
the bloke in the cop shop said i was very lucky not to get a court hearing for that speed!!

It could always backfire though, if you act cocky like where's this calibration certificate they may well decide to go sniffing round your bike even more, and do you for the bald tyre, race can, numberplate, etc...Rolling Eyes

yea that's why I said >>once you know they're gonna do you it's worth doing it... << but it could well get you into more trouble if you've got a race exhaust etc.

I put a post up a while ago that linked to a website which told you all there was to know about this. At the end of the day, you shouldn't say anything there and then, just smile and take it on the chin. Now you are home, write a letter saying you are going to contect the speed reading of the gun and wish to see evidence that it was calibrated correctly THAT DAY.

You will find that they are likely to either A: Drop the case or B: Have the evidence nd take you to court where you are likely to get a bigger fine - your choice if you take the risk or not!

BAD G!!!!

Asking for a calibration certificate is always a good move....was teh PC on their own??

~If they are on their own - no proof,
~If not calibrated DAILY - no evidence!!

My ex got away woth doing 60 in a 40 becuase the PC was on his own and hadnt done a daily calibration, though he asked this at the roadside, and the PC didnt follow anything through.
